Akiko Stehrenberger

I really like these two posters by Akiko Stehrenberger. I think that they are good examples of how illustration and bespoke type can work so well together. This is the style of illustration I want to use as a starting point for my Fedrigoni brief - and then bring into the third dimension using paper engineering.

Custom type

This custom type designed for Stella is so simplistic yet made interesting by the texture of the hand painted texture of the letter forms. I think this is a perfect example of how image inspired typography can have so much more of an effect than digital type.

Blonde Redhead

Design for Blonde Redhead's new album - I love this hand manipulated type. It is almost a stencil which I think adds a really nice asthetic to it. 
Below is another interesting design for an album cover. I love the use of vintage imagery contorted into something strange and thought provoking.
